First Steps to Functional Skills

This free course provides three hours of guided learning per week on Wednesday mornings, 9.30-12.30 starting 4th September in central Bristol.

This friendly, supportive class will enable learners to build confidence and skills in maths in order to get ready progress on to a Functional Skills Maths and gain a qualification. The course will increase learner confidence in working with numbers and develop underpinning Maths Skills as well as fluency in Maths.

The course will also encourage learners to work independently on set tasks and to complete and submit these tasks within a set time frame. Learners will develop digital skills using interactive online activities and use of the learning platforms its learning and BKSB, and develop behaviours such as persistence and logical thinking through their ability and application of mathematical tools and approaches
