Recoupe is a regenerative restoration project breathing new life into Troopers Hill Woods. Our focus is to work sensitively with the land to create a working woodland.

We will mainly use hand tools and apply traditional woodland management techniques such as coppicing, charcoal burning, and hedge laying. This allows us to produce local products like: Beanpoles sticks, Charcoal and Materials for traditional crafts.

By planting trees and creating a range of habitats for wildlife, we aim to increase the biodiversity of the woodland. We wil Build ‘dead’ hedges, create clearings for ground plants to thrive and care for the health of trees and wildlife.

Our goal is to build a healthy, thriving ecosystem that people can walk through and explore.

If you’d like to be part of a group of volunteers who: Help care for the woods, Learn traditional woodland skills, Spend time outdoors with nature, Meet other woody folk…Then Recoupe is for you!

Sessions are run by Luke and Tim, with a group size of up to 12 volunteers.
