Sixteen Co-operative are about to commence a pilot Supported Internships Programme, this exciting new programme will help young people without an EHCP to gain valuable skills and experience, and to support them in to paid employment.

Sixteen Co-operative are about to commence a pilot Supported Internships Programme in conjunction with Bristol City Council and We Works for Everyone.

The 15-month scheme will start in April 2024 and comprise of:

  • 9 months formal education and 3 x supported work placements (one day a week of classroom-based activities and four days a week on placement)
  • 3 months job development
  • 3-6 months of in-work support

We are looking for 10 participants who:

  • Are aged 16-24/25
  • Do not have an Educational Health Care Plan
  • Are or have been NEET/Risk of NEET – SEMH or leaving Alternative Provision
  • Have SEND and complex support requirements
  • Have not participated on previous internship or traineeship
  • Are keen to find paid work and have basic understanding of what work is / previous experience of work or work experience
  • Living in Bristol with ability to travel and willing to learn new routes
  • Willingness to attend base-room activity
  • Have right to work in UK
  • Parents/carers who share your aspirations and provide support
