WE Work for Everyone Programme engages and supports people with a learning difficulty, learning disability and autistic people to move closer to or achieve and maintain paid employment, supported by a Navigator on a 1 to 1 basis. People with learning difficulties face particular labour market disadvantage, may have more than one disadvantage barrier, have potential low level basic and employability skills, and struggle to move into and retain paid employment and sustainable career pathways.
WE Work for Everyone uses local provision, driven by a single delivery model and underpinned by a single Menu of Opportunity. The programme is a collaborative partnership between the LA areas of Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Bath & North East Somerset and the West of England Combined Authority.
The project aims to improve and increase the employment outcomes of people with a learning difficulty, learning disability and autistic people in the WECA region. It will promote social inclusion through an individualised programme which will focus on their specific needs, and identify pathways (specific support, vocational and education opportunities, career planning, on the job coaching) to move them towards or into paid and sustainable employment. This cohort is far from the labour market and requires more in-depth interventions to enable them to move towards and access paid employment. Through an individualised approach, this programme will increase participation in the labour market, improve social inclusion, self-esteem, social mobility, and well-being.
